Updated advice for the safe vaccination of Corona for those suffering from high-risk allergies

At the end of 2020, experts led by allergists at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) examined all the information related to possible allergic reactions to Corona vaccines.

According to a report by "MedicalXpress", the team has now published updated insights based on their experience in supervising more than 65,000 employees who have been fully vaccinated since that time, and the latest findings of the group have been published in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.

The lead author, clinical director of MGH's Allergy and Clinical Immunology Unit, said, “Our main goal is to enable the largest possible number of individuals to receive the Corona vaccine safely and to avoid unnecessary reluctance to receive the vaccine due to lack of knowledge about allergic reactions to vaccines.

With additional clinical data and licensing of the Coronavirus vaccines, researchers are proposing modified methods of assessing patients with a history of allergies, and this includes clear and simple preliminary questions to identify individuals eligible to receive all vaccines without the need for an allergist's evaluation.
