"President Vladimir Putin will not discuss with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky the conflict in eastern Ukraine, but will only discuss with him the problems of bilateral relations," said Russian Presidential press spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
Peskov added in a press briefing today, Tuesday, "President Putin has made clear his position on President Zelensky's initiative regarding dialogue, and confirmed that problems of bilateral relations between the two countries can only be discussed."
And the Kremlin press spokesman continued: "Such a dialogue cannot be based on the goal of finding a settlement to the conflict in southeastern Ukraine," noting that the best step for Kiev is to conduct a dialogue with the two unilaterally declared republics, Luhansk and Donetsk, and to implement the Minsk agreements.
