The speaker of the Afghan parliament, Mir Rahman Rahmani, said that the high level of violence and the Taliban's readiness for the next fighting season have dashed hopes for peace.
Al-Rahmani - who is currently on a three-day visit to Tajikistan, according to the Afghan TV Channel, said Sunday - that despite the Taliban’s lack of any peace plan, the people of Afghanistan will not allow the collapse of the regime and will not allow the achievements of the past two decades to be squandered. .
"The Afghans were waiting for peace with the start of the talks, but unfortunately, we are not sure whether peace will be achieved ... The Afghan government is ready for any kind of negotiations while preserving the republic's order," he said.
Rahmani explained that his visit to Tajikistan aims to attract more support from the countries of the region for peace efforts in Afghanistan.
