Harald Maher, head of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, warned against extending the state of lockdown in the country until Easter, considering that this measure would lead to the largest job losses since World War II.
Maher - in his statements today, Thursday, called on the government to resolve the rumors of extending the general lockdown in the country beyond January 24, indicating that the long closure has a very high economic cost and it is difficult for anyone to bear its consequences.
He also pointed out that the economy is very sensitive to the extension of the state of closure, suggesting that the state of closure be ended as soon as possible and replaced by stressing the need to wear a highly efficient medical mask, "FFP2" in all stores and shopping centers.
Maher added that relying on wearing a highly efficient medical mask in retail stores has been widely applied in the state of Bavaria, considering that the "FFP2" mask is a good and ideal solution for both customers and employees.
