President of the Syrian Parliament: Bashar Al-Assad has formally submitted a request to run for the presidential elections


The President of the Syrian People's Assembly, Hammouda Sabbagh, announced that Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad has formally submitted a request to run for the Syrian presidential elections.


Yesterday evening, the President of the Syrian People’s Assembly, Hammouda Sabbagh, announced that the parliament had received a letter from the Supreme Constitutional Court submitting Faten Ali Nahar to apply for candidacy for the post of President of the Republic, which was then the third nomination request that reached the Council.

 

The President of the Syrian People’s Assembly stated in the third session of the second special session that based on the provisions of the Constitution of the Syrian Arab Republic, the Law of the Supreme Constitutional Court, the General Elections Law, its amendments, and its executive instructions, the Council received the letter of the Supreme Constitutional Court on April 19, 2021 containing the request submitted by Faten Ali Nahar, born Damascus 10/17-1971 is registered in the north of the slot "265" by running for the position of President of the Syrian Arab Republic. The request was registered with the Council in the special register No. 3 dated 4/19-2021 after the end of yesterday's session.

 

 He added: The Council also received a request by Faten Ali Nahar, which included her desire to nominate herself to the position of President of the Syrian Arab Republic, requesting in it to present her desire to the members of the People's Assembly to support her candidacy request by them in writing, and the request was recorded in the Special Registry No. 3, dated 20-4-2021.

 

Yesterday, Sabbagh announced the opening of the door for candidacy for the presidential elections, and he received two letters from the Constitutional Court presenting Abdullah Salloum Abdullah and Muhammad Firas Yassin Rajouh, two applications to the court to nominate themselves for the position of President of the Republic.
