Monaco completes the French Cup semi-final contract with a double against Lyon


The Monaco team qualified for the semi-finals of the French Cup, after the precious victory over its host Olympique Lyon, two goals free of charge, in the match that was held on Wednesday evening, at the "Groupama Stadion", within the quarter-finals of the competition for the current season.


The two goals of Monaco came in the third half of the match, as the brilliant striker Wissam Ben Yedder scored the first goal in the 53rd minute from a penalty kick, and the German striker Kevin Folland added the second goal in the 61st minute.


Olympique Lyonnais completed the match with 10 players, starting in the 51st minute, to expel Ivorian defender Senale Diomandi for receiving two warnings.


It is worth noting that the Monaco team ranks third in the French league table this season with 68 points, one point ahead of fourth-placed Lyon, while the Lille team ranks first with 70 points, 5 rounds before the end of the season.


Valier, Montpellier and Paris Saint-Germain teams qualified for the semi-finals of the French Cup, after beating Toulouse, Canet Ace and Angers teams, respectively.
