Galatasaray announces a new infection with the Corona virus among the players

A British study revealed that the new strain of Corona virus that spread in the United Kingdom and South Africa has Brazilian origin. According to the report of the British newspaper "Mirror".

The professor of microbiology at the University of Cambridge said that the Brazilian variant has 3 major mutations that "largely reflect" some of those in the highly contagious South African variant, hence anxiety.

He added: "Vaccines are likely to be effective as a control measure if coverage rates are high and transmission is as limited as possible, and there are still many questions about the alternative, including whether it will be vaccine-resistant."

On the other hand, Professor de Olivria, who is leading South Africa's efforts to understand the new strain, said: “We know that B.1.1.248 has one mutation in common with the variant in the UK and South Africa, and it is one of the mutations associated with rapid transmission.”

Not much is known about the alternative, including whether vaccines will be effective against it, and scientists said they are not yet sure whether it is more transmissible, at this point it is not believed to make people sicker.

For his part, British Prime Minister Johnson said that there are "many questions" about the strain, which are being investigated by Japanese scientists, it is not known whether he actually made his way to the United Kingdom or not.

Studies of the Japan National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID) indicate that at present there is no "evidence" that the variant is more contagious than previous versions of Corona, however, the newly identified variant is believed to share characteristics with the UK strain.

A man in his 40s had difficulty breathing, a woman in her 30s had a headache and sore throat, and the other two who tested positive for the variant were two children, one of whom had a fever.

Japan announced the discovery of the new variant on Sunday and informed the World Health Organization about it after a number of people infected with the strain arrived from Brazil.
