The Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics announced today, Tuesday, his commitment to holding the two events expected this year (the Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games), in light of the Corona virus crisis.
Mori Yoshiro said - according to the Japanese Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) - that he will go ahead with the planned preparations calmly, adding that sport is a powerful tool to move people and that he will provide the best so that the games can be held to bring hope and happiness to many.
The organizing committee says that its members are working as far apart as possible due to the declaration of a state of emergency in the capital, Tokyo and three neighboring provinces, while the preparations are proceeding seriously.
